IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Shu
AU or OU: OU
Canon: Arknights
Canon Point: After the events of Here a People Sows
Character Age: Well over a thousand.
AU Description: N/A
OU Backstory: Sui Siblings, Shu Operator Files, Here a People Sows Synopsis

As one of the fragments of Sui, Shu gained sentience and personality at some unknown date in the past with the simple imperative to gift knowledge unto the people of Yan. Like her other siblings, Shu bequeathed a specific skill onto the Terran people, that of the harvesting and cultivating of crops. It can be assumed that for many thousands of years, she has been spreading this knowledge. It is revealed in Here a People Sows that she has been essentially chained to the remote region of Dahuang since coming into being, required to use her abilities constantly to stave off demonic forces that would otherwise corrupt the earth.

tl;dr from all the long wiki links: Shu is one of twelve fragments of a dragon 'god' and currently acts as a goddess of agriculture.

Powers and Abilities:
Weather manipulation: Shu can summon wind and rain for ideal crop growth.
Plant growth: She can, of course, accelerate the rate of growth of plants and make barren soil fertile.
Healing: She is a proficient healer.
Minor teleportation: She can protect the fields (and people) by teleporting threats away.
Fortune-telling: Shu can read the future accurately through palms. She does not do lottery tickets.
Nonexistence: If Shu dies, everything she has ever created will instantly be erased from history. She will be forgotten by most people who knew her. Just listing this in case she ever dies.
Other major god powers: These will not be coming into play in this game.
Cooking: This is not magical; it's just what happens when you're an avatar of agriculture.

Why do you wish to join the Crimson Corsairs?

It is only correct to provide aid to those who have unshackled me from the chains of the Empire, is it not? Though I have no desire to engage in warfare unnecessarily, the seeds of this rebellion were sown long before my arrival. It would be folly not to nurture their growth, lest they be trod upon before they ever see sunlight. I should not wish to see your people further oppressed.

Additionally... if I may say, the culinary techniques of your world are in need of supplementation. I simply cannot allow your soldiers to persist on this way. It is too lamentable! Why, the out-of-season vegetables, the usage of seasoning, this 'boil-until-cooked-through' approach - the nutritional value is completely sapped! You must allow me access to the food stores. And I have been studying the regional maps. The trade routes currently used to procure fresh foodstuffs are suboptimal; in observing the seasonal weather patterns, the root vegetables suitable for autumn harvest are currently --

Ah, forgive me. I am prattling.

Why should the Crimson Corsairs allow you to join them?

What an excellent question! It is rare for me to be allowed to go where I please, so I cannot say with certainty that you ought. I suppose there is no particular reason I should be allowed to join, though I am given to understand you are in need of skills I may be able to provide. I wish to join. You wish for assistance. Does that suffice?

Have you ever lost a comrade? How did you react?

...I apologize. I should not answer this question.

Many Crimson Corsairs will die in the line of duty, how does that make you feel?

Yes... it is a tragedy. The bloom of a flower is ephemeral. In the blink of an eye, the petals have fallen away and the leaves have scattered to the winds. And yet the soil is nourished by that which falls, such that new flowers may bloom the following year. Living creatures die and return to the earth, and their dreams and ideals live on in those who persist after. Should the entirety of the Corsairs meet their end, there will come a day when the blade is taken up once more. For the cycle continues on, year after year, century after century.

One thing is assured. In the spring, there will always be buds sprouting anew.

What are you willing to do to preserve the secrets of the Crimson Corsairs?

What exciting language you use. To preserve the secrets of the Crimson Corsairs, I should do nothing less than what I am capable.

...

Is that an unsatisfactory answer? Please, be more specific in your questioning. There are any number of ways to answer, and I do not wish to guess at what you intend.

Describe a failure in your past and what you learned from it.

'Gaze upon the green surface of the water flowing to the East. Grieve that the white sun hides in the West.'

My failures are my own to bear. I beg that you do not ask that which you cannot understand. Merely know that I shall not be a burden upon you.

What has your experience with the Imperials been like?

'Hard labor is its own reward.' A trite saying, unworthy to stand in the library of Terran history, but one that sprung to mind with frequency.

...Yes, I am joking.

Shall I simply say... though I am no stranger to toiling in the earth, the things that Terrans are willing to do to one another can never be underestimated. Goodness and malice are two sides of the same coin. I should not be surprised at the extent of which you are all capable. Though it would be foolish to think your people a true dichotomy, allow me to see the extent of your goodness now.

Describe a time your life was in the hands of another, what did you do?

A-haha! You would not find it amusing, but... my life has never been in my own hands. Even now, I suppose my life is currently in your hands, is it not? You are making a decision about my future to which I acquiesce.

Let me see... I do not mind it so much. I owe a debt to someone. Someone for whom I cared greatly, a fact I did not realize until it was too late. In their memory, in their name, I shall persist on in my duties, should that mean the passing of 24 jieqi or 24,000.

I am not sure I have answered the question. But surely you do not want to know what I do day to day. You would not find it interesting, unless you wish to know about the most up to date developments in rice irrigation.

What would you be willing to do if it meant the defeat of the Empire?

This is the same question as earlier. What is this 'willing to do' you are implying? Take the life of an enemy soldier? Such has been the way of the world since the dawn of time, loathe as I am to participate. I am in the business of nurturing, yet it is the fallen leaves that provide the best fertilization for the promise of the future. I reap what has been sown, even if what has been sown is not by my own hands.

I am curious why you persist in this inquiry. Is there some... immoral deed you would have us perform? What naughty children you are. Hmhm~

How well do you work with comrades? What can we expect from you when you are placed on a team?

I should do everything utmost to protect those within my charge. Tender shoots that strive towards the light of the sun... They are so treacherously vulnerable. It is not only my duty to ensure that they reach full maturation, but my delight to do so.

Of course, some 'tender shoots' need guidance so as not to grow amongst the brambles. They might not know what is best for their own growth. Don't mistake me! I should never be a nag. But I should not be a good elder sister if I did not nudge my siblings in the right path occasionally. I do love to see the fruits of my labors.
